This capstone project aims to develop a Student Internship Monitoring System (SIMS) that serves as a web-based on-the-job training productivity tracker for Colegio de San Gabriel Arcangel. As an educational institution, Colegio de San Gabriel Arcangel recognizes the importance of providing its students with practical training that can help them prepare for their future careers. Hence, it has implemented an internship program that allows students to gain relevant work experience and apply the theoretical knowledge they have acquired in the classroom. However, monitoring the progress of students during their on-the-job training can be a daunting task for the OJT coordinators. It requires them to keep track of the number of rendered hours, Daily Time Record, weekly accomplishment reports, and other necessary documents. Moreover, it is essential to ensure that students are performing their tasks in compliance with the standards set by the institution. To address these challenges, this capstone project proposes the development of a web-based platform called SIMS. The system aims to provide a comprehensive solution that simplifies the tracking and monitoring process for both the OJT coordinators and students. SIMS includes features such as a dashboard that displays the progress of the students' training, a module for generating reports, and a system for uploading and storing necessary documents. By leveraging the capabilities of SIMS, the OJT coordinators can streamline their workflow and focus on ensuring that students are performing their tasks in compliance with the institution's standards. Meanwhile, students can easily monitor their progress, identify areas for improvement, and submit their accomplishment reports on time. Overall, the proposed Student Internship Monitoring System (SIMS) can help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the internship program at Colegio de San Gabriel Arcangel. It provides a digital solution that simplifies the tracking and monitoring process, enabling the institution to ensure that its students receive practical training that prepares them for their future careers.
